Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know about filing your SA taxes with ClaimX.

ClaimX is a tax preparation platform built specifically for South African taxpayers. You upload your tax documents (IRP5s, IT3 certificates, bank statements, medical aid certificates), and ClaimX automatically scans, categorises, and matches every transaction to the correct SARS source code. It then generates a practitioner-ready tax pack you can use to file directly or hand to your tax professional.

No. ClaimX is a tax preparation tool, not a registered tax practitioner. We help you organise, categorise, and prepare your tax documents. We recommend having a qualified tax professional review your return before submission to SARS, especially for complex situations.

At minimum, your IRP5 (employee tax certificate) and 12 months of bank statements. For maximum deductions, also upload your medical aid tax certificate, retirement annuity certificate, IT3(b) interest certificates, and any receipts for claimable expenses like home office costs, travel logbooks, or s18A donation receipts.

ClaimX uses 256-bit AES encryption and processes your documents client-side in your browser. Your financial data never leaves your device and is never stored on our servers. We are fully POPIA compliant and do not share any personal information with third parties.

For the 2025/26 tax year (1 March 2025 to 28 February 2026), non-provisional individual taxpayers can file from 1 July 2026 to 23 October 2026. Provisional taxpayers have until 31 January 2027 for e-filing. ClaimX lets you prepare year-round so you're ready the day filing season opens.

ClaimX is for any South African taxpayer who wants to claim every allowable deduction and file accurately. Whether you're a salaried employee with a single IRP5, a freelancer with multiple income sources, a property investor with rental income, or a business owner filing ITR14 — ClaimX handles it all.

Stop leaving money on the table.

Every year, South Africans leave billions in unclaimed deductions. ClaimX helps you claim what you may qualify for.
